APOSTASY Writing New Material, Seeking Label Home
May 7, 2007Swedish black metal act APOSTASY has been confirmed as the headliner of Kramfors Cityfest, set to take place June 15 in Kramfors, Sweden.
In other news, the band's frontman Fredric Edin has issued the following update:
"We are in full progress of writing our third album which so for is unnamed but eight songs are written so far so we will pre-produce them in the coming month, and we are negotiating with some big labels for a new contract. We left Black Mark Records due to several problems, and I'm sure many of you are curious about our new guitarist after [previous guitarist] Henrik's death. He is 100% member of APOSTASY and Ludwig is one bad-ass guitar player."
APOSTASY made national headlines in Sweden last year when the group's guitarist Henrik Johansson was stabbed to death by his girlfriend. At 3:55 a.m. on March 9, 2006, the 19-year-old girlfriend dialed 112 (the Swedish equivalent of 911 in the U.S. or 999 in the U.K.) and said that her boyfriend was lying bleeding on the floor in the couple's apartment in Kramfors, Sweden. When the paramedics and police arrived, Henrik Johansson was already dead.
